Coming from a plot called Les Longecourts (which lies below 1st Growth Les Saint-Georges) these grapes were so healthy and ripe that 100% whole bunches could be retained. Colour is rich purple, aromas are open, fine and fresh. Palate starts full-bodied, with good volume and flavours, finishing long (for drinking 2025-2030+).

Winemaker
Domaine A & A Chopin
Brothers Arnaud and Alban Chopin are the fifth generation to be winemaking here, making wines solely from vineyards they tend themselves. “Fruit and finesse” are their objective. They are now achieving striking results, with carefully thought-out methods, from a splendid range of top sites. Small boxes are used for the hand-picked fruit, and, when needed, this is cooled overnight. Whole bunches are often retained for fermentation, and punching-down is limited, with gentle pumping over being preferred. They have sourced stoneware amphora from Italy, to allow wines to be removed from barrel, then ideally aged further, up to bottling. In order to be able to concentrate on their finest vineyards, they reduced the total size of the domaine from 15 to 9 hectares. We have been thrilled to introduce their wines with the 2022 vintage.
