2023 Château Angludet, Margaux

Angludet produced low yields in 2023, just 20 hl/ha, which is a shame, as the wine is seriously beautiful, being better value and quality than the 2022, we feel. 2023 is the first vintage using certified biodynamic viticulture and there is indeed a vibrant energy to this wine. Colour is a deep, fine purple, with floral, perfumed aromas overlaying ripe black fruits. Bright, attractive and supple in the mouth, there is good volume and a balanced, harmonious tannic structure. Ageing in 60% oak barrels and 40% amphoras, the finish is pure and long-flavoured (for drinking 2028–2038+).
