This château’s vines are superbly situated on the plateau of one of Pauillac’s best sectors, rubbing shoulders with vineyards belonging to Batailley and Grand-Puy-Lacoste. Until 1948, it formed part of the 4th Growth Château Duhart-Milon, and it has been under the ownership of the Castéja family of Château Batailley since 1970. Assembled from 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, here we have a classically built Pauillac of beautiful perfume and poise. Full in body, it has freshly scented fruitiness, very precise structure, and a complete, finely tannic finish. At less than £16.60 per bottle in bond (7% less than the 2022 vintage), we believe this to be one of the appellation`s best values, for mid-term ageing (for drinking 2028-2038+).
Please note, this In Bond wine is limited to 5 cases online. More may be available: please call 020 7584 7927 or email to enquire further.
