2023 marks the first vintage that this Saint-Estèphe château has been amongst our En Primeur selections. Spotting its potential, it was the first property that the Lorenzetti family purchased, in 2008 – Lafon-Rochet, d`Issan and Pedesclaux being more recent additions to their small portfolio. Lilian Ladouys`s 75 hectares of organically managed vines are very well positioned on the plateau, lying close to Cos d`Estournel and Lafite Rothshild. In 2023, it is a blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon with 37% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc, colour being bright ruby-purple, aromas being lifted and perfumed, with notes of black berries. Palate is full and silkily textured, having excellent balance of ripe fleshiness and fresh structure. Here we have a great value (£12 per bottle, in bond), attractive Saint-Estèphe, for the short to mid-term (for drinking 2026-2034+).
Please note, this In Bond wine is limited to 5 cases online. More may be available: please call 020 7584 7927 or email to enquire further.
