This vineyard lies uphill from the well-known 1st Growth Les Arvelets, catching maximum sunshine from its south-facing exposure. The vines are partly 65-, partly 25-years old, and the wine ages magnificently (as a recently-opened bottle of 1964 convincingly showed). This 2018 is purple-ruby of medium depth, with impressive, densely fruity aromas. Structure is solid without heaviness, the fruitiness well-sustained from attack right through mid-palate to an engaging finish. Tannins are gentle, the aftertaste long (for drinking 2022-2032+).
