Christian Moreau and his son Fabien’s estate is concentrated on the right bank
of the river Serein, with terrific Grand Cru holdings, in addition to one of the region’s most superb First Growths: Vaillon Cuvée Guy Moreau. These wines all come from Domaine vineyards, except for the Village Chablis, where grapes from 1.5 ha. of estate vineyard are supplemented by fruit from two other plots, from which the Moreau family has been buying for 15 years. “2022 was the hottest year we have ever seen,” Fabien told us, “but the nights were fresh, there was no heat-wave, so the vines were not stressed.”
