Here, 85% of the wines come from their own Domaine, which now has 7.5 hectares in production, mainly in the northern Côte de Beaune. We championed winemaker Jean Lupatelli’s work here over the 7 vintages up to 2020, and wish him well in his recent promotion, as winemaker for Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé. The new wine-maker is Thomas Emin, who worked with Lupatelli from 2018 to 2020, and has made superb successes of the 2022s. He has reduced the proportion of new oak barrels (from 30-40% down to 20%) for several cuvées, and is working closely with 3 coopers (instead of 7). He is reducing sulphur levels, and aiming to bottle more reds without fining or filtration. The policy of converting newly acquired vineyards to organic cultivation (and certification) is being continued.
