Made only in exceptional harvests, and exclusively from Grand and Premier Cru grapes, La Grande Année is vinified in oak barrels, allowing the wine to develop aromas of great richness and finesse. The 2015 spring and summer were glorious, with plenty of sunshine and little rain. Fortuitously, grape ripening was given a boost at the end of August by some long-awaited rainfall, before harvest of compact bunches of small berries in mid-September. The result at Bollinger is a Grande Année that boasts the House’s signature generosity allied to balancing freshness.
