Exceptional Loire Wines from Jacky & Jean-Philippe Blot

For lovers of White Burgundy, we encourage you to take a side step to discover the elegant, dry Montlouis wines from the Blot family’s Domaine de la Taille aux Loups. Having established the domaine in 1988, esteemed winemaker, Jacky, sadly passed away in May 2023. His son Jean-Philippe continues his legacy, having worked side-by-side with his father for many years. Chenin Blanc thrives in this section of the central Loire Valley, lying east of Tours and south of Vouvray. Parcel selections and terroir transparency are key to the family’s organically made wines, where Chenin reaches its apogee. In these wines we find pure, gentle aromatics aligned with textural roundness and complexity brought by meticulous barrel ageing. They also have the added bonus of Chenin Blanc’s natural, brisk acidity. In a warm vintage such as 2020 this is a truly winning combination. We also feature one of the Blot’s excellent reds from Cabernet Franc vines grown at Domaine de la Butte in Bourgueil. Both whites and red offer exceptional value, and will give immediate and future pleasure.
