Jean-Marc Roulot produces some of Meursault’s most thrilling, perfectly-balanced wines. He has exemplary lightness of touch, the wines being exquisite expressions of individual vineyard sites, having precision and vibrancy. Their complexities develop harmoniously with bottle-age, whilst building length and retaining freshness. The domaine`s prestigeous reputation was established by Jean-Marc`s father, Guy, who was a legendary producer of some of the finest Meursaults. His sudden death in 1982 left the family in transition, as Jean-Marc was in Paris pursuing a career in acting. However, by 1989 Jean-Marc was ready to take on the direction of the domaine, deciding to turn his attention to the vines rather than pursue a full-time career on the stage or in front of the camera. The wines of Domaine Roulot are now among the most sought after of all of Burgundy. Jean-Marc has pioneered single-vineyard bottlings of Meursault, and is commited to a bright, chiseled, focused style of Meursault. In more recent years, he has also been re-establishing the family`s traditional craft of Eau de Vie and fruit liqueur production.
