La Sabarotte is a powerful wine, more ‘Cornas’ perhaps in style that the Courbis brothers other wines, from old, terraced vines planted in 1947. Aged 66% in new oak barrels, it has a splendid nose that is richly aromatic, with spiciness, ripe dark berries and dried herbs, very complex. This is a wine with a huge volume of mouth coating flesh and richness. The fruit is ripe and intense, with great depth and character. It is mineral, finely structured and has lovely freshness. As above, a wine for the cellar (for drinking 2022-2034+).
