The Guillemot-Michels, Marc and Pierrette, were pioneers of biodynamic winemaking in Burgundy in the 1990s. With the younger generation now firmly installed, the domaine continues to champion this winemaking philosophy, making some of the Mâconnais` finest and purest expressions of Chardonnay. 2021 was another tiny crop here due to spring frost, but we have been fortuitous in securing a pallet of this wonderful wine, from a vintage that was less `solaire` than other recent years. As usual, this is unoaked, allowing the wine`s incredible energy and aromatic finesse to be at the fore. Colour is bright, pale lemon-gold, with pristine aromas combining fresh white peach, apricot and orange blossom. The palate is full bodied, having rich concentration, silky textures and mineral freshness in equal measure. The finish is long-lasting and satisfyingly dry (for drinking 2023-2025+).
