This wine comes entirely from the Puligny-Montrachet side of the Grand Cru, from vines which were planted in 1962 (so now 60 years old). The parcel is perfectly positioned in the Bâtard-Montrachet “shoulder” – the plot lying between Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet and Le Montrachet. As in Clos-Vougeot, so in Bâtard-Montrachet – the top section plots are the best. The wine is ageing in 25% new barrels. Colour is solid, green-golden, aromas strikingly open, fine and fresh. Palate is exceptionally silky, with exuberant fruitiness, and amazing length (fordrinking 2026-2034+).
