Les Teurons lies at the heart of the Beaune First Growths, and this plot adjoins the most famous one, Les Grèves. Partly the vines are protected, and warmed, by the side-walls of an ancient quarry, lying downhill from it, and are more than 50 years old. Just under half the bunches were retained for whole-cluster fermentation, and the wine aged in 20% new barrels. This is ruby-purple of medium depth, aromas being rich, fresh and fine. Palate starts charmingly fruity, then moves into a discreet phase, before opening out to give fresh, smooth length (for drinking 2024-2032+).
