The Domaine owns 10 hectares of vines in Côte Rôtie, split into no fewer than 35 different parcels, which are harvested, vinified and matured separately before blending. The lieu-dit “Besset,” which lies at the top of the slope, where cooling breezes offset natural richness from the southern exposure, makes up a considerable part of the blend in this “Mon Village” cuvée. In 2020, this wine is remarkable for its sublime, satiny texture and incredible purity of fruit. Opaque colour, on the nose there is an abundance of scented, black fruit, floral and liquorice aromas. Palate is full, intricately knit and has great depth and refinement. Structure is precise, the finish being super-long, refreshing and having finesse. This is a great Côte-Rôtie, which has the structure and concentration for long ageing but also the charm and fine-ness of tannins for more youthful drinking (for drinking 2023-2034+).
