2018 Château Les Marcieux, Haut-Medoc

Full bottle just 1,249 g. 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot grown by the Listrac vignerons Gobinaud. 30% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. Dark garnet. Intense nose. Attractively mineral, ‘stony’ impression on the palate. Good to see an Haut-Médoc that’s majority Cabernet Sauvignon … Really sappy and interesting. Dry finish but there is sufficient fruit on the way there. Reasonably subtle! GV
