Domaine Bernard Dugat-Py is widely recognised for producing some of Burgundy`s most compelling bottles. Bernard bought his first vineyard at the age of fifteen, and over the years has inherited, accumulated and nurtured old vines and low-yielding, organically-tended Pinots, to enable him to offer some of Burgundy`s most invigorating, age-worthy wines. These are aged in a magnificent, airy Gothic vault (built in AD 1075), uphill from the village of Gevrey-Chambertin (see picture, above). Bernard’s son, Loïc, has been working alongside him since 1997, and took responsibility for day-to-day running of the now 10 hectare domaine in 2013. We have a 25 year history of shipping from Dugat-Py. The wines encapsulate all that is great about rare, top-class Red Burgundy – intense power, structure and concentration are counterpointed to vibrant energy, bright acidity and aromatic freshness.
